Judith Ashley has lived much of her life in a fantasy. From the time she was a little girl her imagination has taken her places and allowed her to experience things in her head or in play. She’s been the drum major and a queen on her float in parades, a princess rescued from the tower by the handsome knight, a missionary in India, explorer in the Amazon jungle, and a priestess of the Goddess, a nun, and a New York Times, USA Today, etc. Best Selling Author. She’s lived in tents, wood cabins, an igloo, castle, mansions, high-rise apartments, penthouses, dungeons, basements, and cottages as well as lived with different tribes of indigenous people on five continents in a variety of different shelters,
Until she joined the Wild Women Writers in November 2001, she’d never put her adventures on paper. She wrote, but not about her adventures.
Professionally, Judith has been a middle and high school English teacher and a child protective services case worker. She is a professional guardian and geriatric case manager, an adoption worker, an emergency after hours’ responder for the elderly and people with disabilities, and teacher of personal growth and counseling skills workshops for adults.
Personally, she’s been a wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and sat in a women’s circle for 15 years.
Joining Wild Women Writers was a turning point for Judith. After a year of writing on various topics, she had a period of several months where the stories of these seven women came flooding through her. It was a compelling experience and she began her journey to make one of her visions her reality, that of being a New York Times, USA Today, etc. best selling author. She wants to see her books wherever best selling books are sold and to have people know that spirituality, in many forms, can sustain us through life’s ups and downs. ‘And harm to none’ is the guiding principle of the women in this circle as well as Judith’s.
Her prayer for you:
